Student Services Advisor
About the position
Responsibilities
• Advise students on academic issues, including program and course offerings, and assist with decision-making.
• Answer student questions and resolve basic issues related to bookstore validation and eBook use.
• Complete and maintain student scheduling and course revisions per University standards.
• Provide guidance to students on scheduling changes and process those changes in the system.
• Collaborate with faculty/staff/administration to assist students experiencing personal or academic concerns.
• Communicate to students regarding semester/term start preparation.
• Conduct welcome calls to new incoming students to discuss schedules and potential obstacles.
• Enter updates into University platforms on all engagement and communication with students.
• Prepare materials for and conduct new student orientations on accessing University platforms and resources.
• Negotiate with inter- and intra-department personnel to resolve student issues.
• Take on additional administrative duties as needed to support the campus.
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; Master's degree in higher education, counseling, or related field preferred.
• Multiple years of relevant student support experience.
• Proven experience providing exceptional customer service in an education or service-oriented environment.
• Proficiency in advising, course selection, and academic planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills to assist students in resolving challenges.
